About Me

Well, I've been making patchwork quilts for over 5 years and I just can't get enough of them. I have now bought a long arm quilting machine to make those lovely designs and finish quilts professionally. I now want to offer my skills to others.

Thanks Helen for the opportunity to quilt a few of your works. I love this one even thought blue wouldn't be my first colour choice. This pattern is beautiful in BLUES.

The quilt group I have been involved with over the past few years has gotten together and created two quilts that we will be donating to some needy people. The fabric was donated by individuals and bought with the group donations.  Many of us worked on the top and binding. I contributed to the quilting

I resently finished a great quilt for a co worker for a gift for her daughter.  She was very active in school any other team sports and I was able to use many of her shirts and uniforms in this project.  Thanks Sydney for collecting all of these great pieces for an awesome quilt.

I'm so out of practice with blogging.....  I've been very busy making baby quilts for friends and finishing quilts of Valor for the Riverside Quilters of Lac Du Bonnet Manitoba.  Lots of practice and I have had a chance to practice on some beautiful quilts.

I wish I could remember how to post all of the pictures I've taken😨

Promise I'll post some as soon as I figure it out Again!

Here is MaryAnne from the McIvor Quilters group that I have joined.  This name of this quilt design is a Hunter's Star and it is absolutely beautify in browns and greens.    I can't take any credit for the quilting of this quilt but I hope to have a chance to work on one like it in the future.

Here is an ongoing project that I started in the winter.  It is a work in progress and one quilt that I don't think I'll ever part with.  It has fabric scraps from many of the quilts I have made in the past. This is a great project for taking with you on trips or holidays when you know you will have a clean place to work on it.  On a trip to Calgary this year, I introduced this quilt to my friend Selena who started her own!.  I can't wait to see how far she had gotten since May on her project.

Definitely takes time and patience because it is all hand done but still a great project.  I can't wait to get mine closer to complete.

I've had the pleasure of creating a variety of baby quilts for customers as well.  I finished this one this week for a friend from work for her newest grandson.  Thanks Debbie!

I hope to start posting a lot more now.   I have managed to get more technical and can post easier to the blog.   I have attached a picture of a quilt kit that I purchased two years ago when on a trip to Alaska.  I finished it earlier this year.

I've joined a WONDERFUL group of ladies that love to quilt.  Maybe even more than I do.  They have all been truly an inspiration.  The McIvor Quilters.  We meet in the evening three Tuesdays per month and one Saturday.

I've also been quilting for the Riverside Quilters in Lac Du Bonnet.  I have had the pleasure of quilting many of their "Quilts of Valour".  Beautiful quilts and great practice for me and my long arm.

Here is a RARE picture with me and one of my recent quilts.

I've had some fun challenges lately.  Thanks to a friend at work who is a fabulous artists.  I made an couple of large art port folios for Helene so she can take larger paintings to galleries or shows.  It is so fun creating something new for someone who appreciates the creativity.

Well I think Life continues to get in the way of quilting.

I've managed to keep myself busy making baby quilts for my nephew's new addition to the family and continuing to support the Lac Du Bonnet Quilters group with their Quilts of Valor program.

I do wish I could spend more time on the things I love.

On my last trip to Calgary to visit my very good friends I got to try my hand at some scrapbooking and I made a fun plaque for my wall.

It was lots of fun but I think I could use some practice.  It will make a good addition to my quilting room wall!!

Wow, I really was inspired by JAVA this year.  I actually made three coffee themed quilts.  One went to my nephew and his wife when they came for a visit from California.  I just had to send one back with them.

These two are very unique but I really enjoyed making both of them.

I call the one above "Coffee Black".  It is 85 x 71 inches and turned out awesome!

The one below I call "Coffee Talk".  It is 86 x 60 inches.  I loved the sayings on the blocks.  Makes me smile every time I read them.

If you are interested in any of the last 5 quilts.  They are for sale on Kijiji Winnipeg.

This double size quilt was lots fo fun to create.  It is bright and fun...

It is 88 x 73.

Next.....

An Oriental flavor.  Blues and Browns and simple patches made this quilt truly one of a kind.

It is 92 X 85.

Still more to come.
