About Me

Well, I've been making patchwork quilts for over 5 years and I just can't get enough of them. I have now bought a long arm quilting machine to make those lovely designs and finish quilts professionally. I now want to offer my skills to others.

A couple more quilts just right for the season. I love CHRISTMAS quilts but you can't use them all the time.
I made this pink one for Anna. New for Christmas morning. It will look beautiful with her princess canopy bed.

So much fun making Baby quilts from kits and original new quilts for customers.  Here are a few more I've managed to finish.  Lots more started and on the go too.

Above is a camo quilt in a bear paw pattern.

This quilt was specially made for a Special little lady.

Above and below are three baby blankets I finished this week.  You can see the detail on the pink flanel fabric that is on the back of one of the quilts.

Welcome to my quilting room.  This is one of my new best friends.  I ordered Lenni from APQS in the good ole USof A and have not stopped since.  Above is a fun Halloween theme quilt I just had fun with.  The wall hanging on the right is perfect for the hunting lodge in that big ole easy chair.  I had lots of fun with the layer cake fabrics that I purchased and used nice green thread to complete a leaf stitch patter over the entire quilt.  On the edge of most of my newer quilts, I am using my Pfaff quilter to secure the binding with fancy stitch patterns and patterns that compliment the quilt.

To contact me, publish a post with your email address or email me directly at k.rydz@qkstream.com.

I'd love to hear from you.

I love making quilts for kids.  Colourful and cuddly.  Unique and special.  This one my Aunt fell in love with and just had to take it home to her grandson in Toronto.    A good home for a special quilt.  I would charge between $50.00 and $75.00 for a small quilt this size.  A single could run up to $150.00 depending on the complexity and fabric that is available.
If you are interested in having a quilt made for you, I will provide an estimate sheet that you can complete and email back to me.  If you are interested, please reply to this blog and I will email you the information.

This quilt was not from a pattern.  I was really crazy when I started out.....  I just made one square out of scraps, played with it and other colours until I had this.  I bet it is somewhere out there in a real book but I had to try it. It lives at "my room" in my brother's cottage in Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba.  Since this was taken, pine walls, doors and paint have been added to the room but it is one of the most comfy quilts at the cottage.  Oh yeah, My very handy hubby made the beautiful head and foot board out of tamerak logs.  Ain't it nice?

This quilt and pillow set was made for a very special little boy.  Eric loves it!.  It goes wherever he goes but it usually lives on the couch in front of the TV in the basement so he has something to snuggle with.

This is one of the very first quilts I sold.  It turned out so nice I just had to take a picture of it before it left my hands.  I wasn't able to machine quilt it but it really didn't need it.
The pattern is called "A trip around the world" and it will always be one of my favorites.

What could be better than giving a grandchild their very first quilt made only for them? Or that piece of artwork for that wall in their new home.

Custom quilts are always unique because they are created with the receiver in mind. They are often treasured and passed down from generation to generation.

Creating and giving the experience of a one of a kind patchwork quilt can be difficult to do in these busy times.

The time, materials and equipment are not always available to everyone who would love to have that special quilt to finish off the perfect guest room, wedding or housewarming gift or toddler bed.

The colours available in quality cotton fabrics and ideas shared over generations have made quilting an art that can be enjoyed by everyone.

My mother introduced me to the art of quilting. Being a seamstress for many years, she chose to donate her time and equipment to make charity quilts with her church group. Occasionally I am able to offer my finishing services as well.

I found that over the years, I made some beautiful pieces. Of course I want to continue making more. My projects have been sent all over the country and even across the sea as gifts and comforts. Selfishly, I have a desire to make more and I love to create quilts for others.

Finnaly I'm getting on the web.  This site will be dedicated to the services and one of a kind quilts made by ME!  I'm so excited because I can finnally offer my services and get feedback from customers and other quilters.

In the coming days and weeks I will be posting pictures, providing prices, and looking for other sites or blogs to share.  I can hardly wait to get my first comments.

This is so EXCITING.  Welcome to my world.
